	My life has been profoundly affected by chakra energy. Here is what happened.... About a year ago I found myself attracted to garnets. Even though they are my birthstone, I had never before liked garnets. The attraction grew to desire. and the desire became irresistable. Garnet acquisition commenced. Garnets became my constant companions....rings, pendants, crystals. They comforted me, soothed me, grounded me.
	Then there was a dark time for my soul. There were losses and the ensuing grief. I felt so tired all the time, listless, no energy,
	One day as I was driving home I was overcome with the feeling that I needed something...but I didn't know what! Going with that feeling I found myself at the flower shop - buying plants with orange flowers, a cute little orange flower pot, live plants, orange silk flowers. I brought them home and put them up by the window where the morning sun shines. My friends were so amazed with the transformation in my home and in me. I told them, "Life has returned." Sometimes I wonder.... what will be next?

	Our Seven Basic Rights Each of the seven chakras has a basic right: 1. The right to be here - to simply exist, to take care of ourselves, and to have possessions. 2. The right to feel - to express our emotions and understand our needs and desires. 3. The right to act - to be creative and free. 4. The right to love and be loved - to not suffer abuse or neglect. 5. The right to speak and hear truth - to be listened to, and to be spoken to honestly. 6. The right to see - to not suffer from being told our perception is inaccurate, having things deliberately hidden from us, or having the scope of our vision denied. 7. The right to know - to have access to true and accurate information, and freedom to gain spiritual knowledge and also to connect with and interpret the divine as we choose.

	Be kind to yourself and others Come from love every moment you can. Speak of love with others, Remind each other of your spiritual purpose. Never give up hope. Know that you are loved.

There are 7 basic chakras in the human body. These centers of energy greatly influence our emotions and our health and well-being.

7th chakra Crown Located on top of the head at the crown. Your own direct connection to higher spiritual information. Intuition and inspiration. 6th chakra Third eye Located through the center of the head, in line with the forehead. Clearseeing and clairvoyance. Ability to see as spirit, to distinguish truth from lie. Seeing the whole picture without judgement. 5th chakra Throat Located at the base of the neck and throat. Communication and expression. Ability to communicate with others verbally and psychically. Listening to & expressing inner voice. 4th chakra Heart Located in the center of the chest area. Affinity and harmony. What you're magnetically drawn to. Ability to be at one with people, places, objects. Self-love and self-worth 3rd chakra Solar plexus Located at the solar plexus, just below the ribs. Energy distribution and personal power. How much energy you have, how you use it and what you use it for. Ego identity--who you think you are. 2nd chakra Spleen,Sacral Located a few finger widths below the navel. Emotionality, sexuality and clairsentience. Flow and blockages of emotions, sexual attraction and sensing others' emotions. 1st chakra Root Located near the base of the spine. Survival as spirit in body. Issues relating to work, livelihood and money. Belonging to a group. Fear and security issues.

Many people have found crystals and gemstones to be powerful in healing and balancing the chakras. The comfort and grounding I receive from garnets, a stone of the first chakra, is undeniable. The second chakra responds to citrine, the third to topaz and amber. Fourth chakra stones are emerald and rose quartz, and an effective fifth chakra stone is turquoise. For the sixth chakra lapis lazuli is good, and for the seventh chakra amethyst and diamond. A good way to learn more about this is to refer to books and experienced wise ones. The energy of the chakras can have powerful effects on your personality and your body. Be sure to become well-informed about chakras and their energy. It would be advisable to find a knowedgeable mentor or teacher who can guide you.

Ancient knowledge and respected sages teach that this energy, Kundalini energy, is one's dormant spiritual energy. As a person starts activating the Kundalini energy, it moves upwards through each of the lower chakras to reach the seventh, the Sahasrara Chakra This process is known in Kundalini Yoga as the piercing of the chakras and represents the merging of the female with the male. The release and ascent of the dormant spiritual Kundalini energy in Kundalini Yoga enables the aspirant to transcend the effects of the elements and achieve consciousness that brings liberation from the ever-changing world of illusion (Maya).

Seventh Chakra

Sahasrara is positioned above the head or at the top of it and it has 1000 petals which are arranged in 20 layers, each of them with 50 petals. Sahasrara chakra symbolizes detachment from illusion; an essential element in obtaining supramental higher consciousness of the truth that one is all and all is one.

Often referred as thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate. When a yogi is able to raise his or her kundalini, energy of consciousness, up to this point, the state of samadhi, or union with God, is experienced.

Amethyst is the premier spiritual stone, providing purifying, healing, and protective energies to help clear, open, and balance the Crown Chakra. Amethyst connects the physical plane with the higher realms, pulling the high frequency vibrations into the Crown Chakra, through the Third-Eye, for processing by the rest of the chakras. Many work with Amethyst for it's protective bubble of light that is activated when one holds or wears this stone. Working with Amethyst to clear the Crown Chakra can create a sense of completeness and belonging.
